AIR Houston
This weekend I participated in the AIR Houston competition. In a nutshell, the competition is about creating accessible websites for non profit organizations. We have to follow all accessibility rules and guidelines. We get 8 hours to build the site from start to finish. You are allowed to have the design already made and the images pre-sliced but you can’t have any code pre-written.
I did the coding for my team. I think as a whole we did really well and worked really well together. We’re going for the formula 1 category and I feel like we’re going to get 1st place. If not, I think we at least placed in the top 3. This year its a state wide competition so if we do well, we’ll go on to state wide. Next year it’ll be a national competition.
You can learn more about the AIR competition on the Knowbility website.
